A pair of edwardian black leather ice-skates
November 17, 2012. No comments.
Today I accidentally bought a pair of black leather edwardian ice-skates. They were sitting on a white trunk outside Hirst & Jackson and before I knew it I had slipped off my boots to see if they fitted me. They did! And at only £10 how could I resist? Then as it turned out, he let me have them for £6! Apparently they belonged to the grandparents of the lady up the road and were made by Manfield and Sons, Northampton, England.
There’s nothing sensible or even very practical about this most recent purchase, but they make me very happy. And I am damn well gonna use them if I get half the chance.
